| I have a half bath that I had started to decorate in a vintage patriotic look. I have reproduction vintage war posters in frames hanging on the wall and I have a small birdhouse painted in red/white/blue. Oh, also wooded anchor and steering wheel that I had bought at a craft store that I still need to paint. I want to finish this room very soon and I was wondering if you ladies had any ideas on what else to put in there. I once wondered if hanging a vintage flag in the restroom was a bad idea or not. ***shrugs*** Any help would be great! Thanks! |

Golly, it would be if I tried it - the only one we have is the Union Flag* that my grandmother hung out on VE day in 1945 and I'm not sure it would survive being hung up, never mind being dampened and drying and being dampened and drying every time anyone took a shower!
It sounds a great plan! Have you seen the British repro wartime posters available? If you go to the website of the Imperial War Museum they have lots of wonderful ones for sale. I especially like the one warning against gossip within Britain that might give information on troop movements or manufacturing locations to spies - a glamorous woman in an evening gown surrounded by adoring handsome evening-dressed young men and the slogan "Keep Mum - She's Not So Dumb!", suggesting that she's a gorgeous spy!

I had to divide it at the "Imperial" because otherwise it sent the webpage here all super-wide!
Or google the "Imperial war museum" and click on Shopping.

| Laura, I am so sorry.....vintage American is the theme I am going for. I forgot to mention that. Thank you so much for you help! There is no tub or shower in our half bath...just a sink and toilet....so I don't have to worry about moisture and what not. I see some american flags with 48 stars (instead of the current 50) on E-bay....thinking of getting one. Or maybe I can find a vintage patriotic quilt and hang that up. |

| | That is a great idea for your bathroom. I want to do mine vintage too. I'd like a black and white toille (sp?) shower curtain. The bathroom has white tile with a black tile border. THe floor and toilet and sink are off white. Wish it was all white. Maybe someday we can re-do and put all white in. I'd like to put some vintage things on the walls. Keep it simple (it is an extremely tiny bathroom, barely enough room for a sink, toilet, and small bath tub). The shower curtain and a few accessories I think is what would really make it. |
