I didn't know where else to put this thread, so I stuck it here.

I don't know how many of you have ever tried Mrs. Meyers cleaning products, but you MUST try them!! I found that my local hardware store sells the dish soap, the all purpose concetrated cleaner and several other in that line, all in either Geranium or Lavender. The dish soap is my new standard! I used to use regular Dawn because nothing came close to the suds and the cleaning power. But boy is this stuff heavenly. It smells so good and I've noticed a big improvement in my hands since this isn't as loaded with strong chemicals as most dish detergents are.

I'm loving the concentrated cleaner too. So awesome! Can't wait to find a source locally for the laundry soap and fabric softener.

Here is the website, if anyone is interested.

I've seen some of these in a couple of stores around. You now have me seriously wanting to try them. How does the lavendar smell? Delicious?

It's a very clean lavender smell - not over powering. Just a very lovely lavender scent. Sort of like lavender sachets.

I am so envious about the great stuff you can find in the US and the UK - we are so behind on cleaning products here in Sweden! But, I did manage to find me some (in a very wonderful store, with handmade brushes (for everything!), crafts, cleaning products, soap...) Danish products, natural, scented with essential oils, so I got "Spring" (cucumber scented) surface cleaner, lemon & mint scented toilet cleaner and apple & thyme scented washing-up liquid and lavender & mint bathroom cleaner. Very lovely smelling, the lot of them!

I tend to think they're behind here in the UK! Eco-friendly products and especially, products that aren't heavily scented like so many are, are hard to find and can be pricey.

However last year I found Ecover products. Can you not get them there malin?

I do like Ecover products, as well. But they are only available at our natural food store, somewhere I don't go very often and is not real close to our house.

Ecover is all I use now. Love the product!

I've just discovered Ecover too and love using them and the best bit is they sell them in our local Tesco so they are easy to get your hands on.

Yes, we can get some of the Ecover products, sometimes I buy their washing-up liquid and washing powder. Mostly, I´m serching for products without perfume (except fabric softner, I usually love the green ones, be they apple or green tea) - I have perfumless washing-up liquid at the moment, which I´m thinking of scenting with some essential oils, until I get to the apple-thyme scented one, which is waiting in my pretty cleaning box.

This is sort of cleaning products. I put a drop or two of citrus essential oil on the pad in the filter in my vacuum. I came across this idea for creating lovely scents while pushing the Hoover....makes it less of a chore and more of a pleasure!

Next time you take out the vacuum, try sprinkling dried lavender on floors and carpets first. Then vacuum as usual. The natural oils, yes there are some there even after drying, will heat up and circulate in the vacuum and air. Leaving their fragrance behind.

I use Alison's recipe of baking soda mixed with a few drops of essential oil and sprinkle it on my carpet. Let is sit for awhile before vacuuming. Yummy smelling!

I must give that a bash.

Agreed here too. I'll pull out the big black monster.. aka the vacuum and that'll keep the cats at bay in the bedroom while I let it sit on some of our rugs. We have mainly hardwood flooring so it'll be a nice touch on the area rugs we have.

Oh I'd so love to have hardwood, or any hard flooring, in my home. Except for one bathroom and the kitchen, everything is carpeted. Yuck. Terrible to keep up with when you have 3 dogs (two pugs that shed like horrible!) and an asthmatic/allergic child.

Whats under the carpet? Is it feasible to take the carpet out?
