| I was just curious as to what helps you girls keep track of your routines best? I am stuck in the middle of two worlds. I love electronic gadgets, like Palm Pilots, etc. and I do own one. I love the convenience of being able to use my computer and editing capabilities to keep track of myself, especially since I sit at a computer all day long for work. But then there is the bibliophile side of me. The side that loves paper, books, pencils, stickers, anything to do with paper, I love it. I switch back and forth occasionally between my Palm and my Housekeepers notebook. I just can't decide!
Just curious what everyone else likes and why! |

| | I am a total paper girl! I am not one for modern gadgets at all (which is why I didn't get a digital camera until about a week ago). But then again, I love that my computer brought me to vintage housekeepers like myself. I love paper, love everything about a freshly sharpened pencil. There's also nothing like writing (or getting!) a handwritten letter in the mail. There's nothing pretty about emails. |

| Amy,
I totally agree. I've been on my paper system now for about 6 months and find that I do indeed keep up better with paper. I guess I'm just more old fashioned than new fangled. I pulled my Palm out the other day and find that I still don't look at the thing! I think I'll put it away again or something. There is just no use fighting what works, is there? |

| | I'm a paper girls myself as well, I love my notebooks and filofax as it keeps everything to hand straight away, rather than scrooling through calendars, or emails on the computer. |

| | Both! I love paper for day to day lists but I keep the calendar and address book on my Palm and it is terrific to have with me everywhere and it is very small. I also have a terrific shopping program and Bible on my Palm so I use it lots. I just upgraded at Christmas when my stepmom gave me her older Treo. Now I can put pics on it and I put a few games for kids to play when stuck in dr. appts. etc. |

| Kim,
Do you use HandyShopper? I do like that program - it's very handy for shopping. I had the Bible on my Palm before, I need to reload that. I do have photo capabilities, but I have a new PC at work (I used to have a Mac) and I'm still learning things on it. The games, I agree are handy.
Oh I'd love to have a Treo or a Blackberry. I chose not to get one last year when my dh was getting he and his bus. partner one. I wouldn't have gotten one anyway due to costs. But I'd love to have one secretly. My cell phone has iTunes on it. It's a Pink SLVR (I chose it because it's PINK). But I can put my music on my Palm too.
Maybe today I'll go and search for my old programs I used to have on my Palm and reload them all.
I think my biggest struggle in the Palm arena is like Rhian was saying - I struggle with the computerized calendar. For some reason I do better with to do lists and calendars on paper. Hmmm. I'll have to think this through. |

| | Yes, it is Handy shopper. For some reason, it wouldn't beam to the new one so I have to start over with my databases. I had Fly Lady DBs, calorie DBs, several different grocery DBs. That is proving to be the hardest part of the transition to the new one. |

| Have you ever tried the H2Edit program that uses Excel? I downloaded it the other day but have had problems getting it to set up right. Not sure it is worth all the hassle.
I've run across databases in the past that people put of for download - it's their own personal db for FlyLady routines and such, created for HandyShopper. You just download them to your Palm and then edit them for your own use. The Yahoo Groups related to HandyShopper are a good place to explore that. But you'd have to join the group first. |

| | I'm in Amy and Gina's club too. I'm not much of a gadget person. I love my laptop, but I can't electronically organise myself. I need paper and lists. I am a chronic list maker. It's a crippling addiction sometimes. But it's great at the grocery store when the kids start in with Mum, can we have? And I just point to the list and say, "Is it on the list? Then, NO!" |
