| Ah, the housecoat... The busy housewife's concession to fashion on even the craziest of mornings. No time to primp before putting a swell breakfast on the table for Junior, Mary, and Bill? Just reach for your favorite housecoat! Which one is your vintage favorite?

| Those remind me of lounging pjs. Dressy enough to receive company in. Alas, hard to get now. I suppose you could try to get a vintage pattern and sew some up yourself. Or, in the case of the sewing-challenged *ahem*, find a good seamstress to do them for you. _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| I'm crazy about housecoats and lounge pj's/caftans. I have several. My hubby does not "get it"...lol He has owned and rarely wears, a housecoat I bought him about 25 years ago..no kidding!!!!!
I have some with pockets, one with a hood, some that just go over the head without buttons or zips (like a caftan). My favourite from years ago...long since abandoned as it fell to pieces was my chenille (spelling??) one. Oh how cozy was that? (yummy!).
If there is one thing I really enjoy on a Sunday afternoon when we have free time after we close our shop is this....a nice shower and a cozy afternoon with my fluffy fleece housecoat (complete with hood if it's cold!) and a fleece blanket...my laptop at the ready and friends online. Bliss!
Roll on retirement and I'll be able to "slob around" in a housecoat/dress all day if I so choose but at least for the time it takes to eat breakfast and have a relaxing read and cup of tea. Yep, another blissful plan is hatched!

~~~the designs of the housecoats above are beautiful...any will do, especially when I get my weight down further and will be able to wear cinched in waist ones....yeah!~~~ |
