Yes, I agree!! I must say, I only just bought a digital camera yesterday because I so despise them! (and now I feel I'm addicted to it already!). I'm the same as you, though..love the fire and a cup of tea in the evenings, with a nice book and a blanket.

Everything is a vintage affair with me...I have antique silver salt shakers as bud vases around the house...not polished, I like them nice and old looking. I also have a thing for old handkerchiefs, for some reason, oh, and teacups...well, the list could go on, of course.

Hi, Suz...I must say, I'm not much of a people person, either (at least that's what my husband always says). I don't know, I just like being warm and comfortable, and nothing says that more than my home! (But I'm always up for a good bookstore or flea market, of course).

Hello all! My name is Marietta. I am a stay at home mom of 2. Noah, who just turned 5 and 16 month old Anya. I've been happily married for almost 6 years. I am a diehard vintage fan. Although it used to only be clothes. Thanks to Alison my eyes have finally been opened to all the vintage things the world has to offer. I am so excited about getting my house all cozy and vintage! Style was so much better back in the day.

Hello, I fear I may be the baby of this group! While I don't have a family of my own quite yet, I'm very interested in learning all of the "vintage housewife" ways. I've already got documents full of recipes for household cleaners, and I adore all of the simple things in life, like snuggling up in my lovely lavender scented lilac bed, with a warm cup of hot chocolate and a wonderful novel.

I love all things vintage and am very lucky to have inherited a number of scrumptious things from my darling gran.

I knit, embroider, cardmake, scrapbook, cook and bake, and am always willing to try new crafts!

PostSubject: Hello   Tue Jan 16, 2007 10:48 pm

Hi, my name is Gail. I live in Southern California, in the US. My husband and I are partners in publishing; we've been together since 1970 (high school...). We live across the street from the ocean in a small coastal town.

I work part-time in the office and in my spare time design, sew and knit clothes (all with computerized equipment...garment designing software, knitting machines, embroidery machines...not much "vintage" there but lots of fun to do); I cook a lot; collect vintage homemaking, cooking and sewing books as well as Hawaiian fabrics.

No kids - just fish

Brocante has made me drag out all the vintage linens and dishes I was saving for I don't know what - I found the site over the holidays and read for 2-3 days straight . . . I didn't know anyone else liked the Pogues *and* pink teacups...

Nice to "meet" all of you - I look forward to learning lots...

Gail

PostSubject: Hi there!   Tue Jan 16, 2007 11:05 pm

I'm Amanda. I just love this scrumptious little blog and check in most days. I'm a tad obsessed with all things cosy - cooking, knitting, and homemaking in general. I'm married with 2 children, 2 cats, 1 pony and 3 aquasaurs (don't ask!):)

I live in Lancashire, UK, but dream of a Cumbrian cottage...sigh....one day.......

Hello, I am Denise. My discovery of the Brocante Home was in perfect timing with my joy of finding a 1963 cook book and purchasing this cookbook. A tiny little incident. But, it brought me such joy. This joy caused me to start exploring, while exploring, new found love of the 1960 years and all things vintage.......came about. I had always loved vintage, but being a 1960 baby, 1960 was not considered vintage in my mind....But, lately, vintage or not, I missed this weird, cozy feeling of what those items in those years 1960 years represent for me, (what little I remember).
I do Love the Brocante Home. I have had an awakening... a love for vintage.

Hello All,
My name is Nancy. I am an empty nester with one girl child who is a senior at Emory University, Atlanta. She's the light of my life.
I have started over in a new home in a new town in a new state and am now
a power seller on ebay after retiring from medicine.
I must say, I love it! Nothing makes me happier than a day at the flea market and then sharing my treasures with my sweet, loyal customers. I love what I do and adore getting to "play" with vintage lovelies day in and day out. Of course, my home is filled to over-flowing with delicious treasures that are still bringing smiles and beauty to the world.
Hope to get to know you all as time allows.
It's nice to be here.....
