| | I have been gorging myself on the delights of this site and catching up on the archives for the past couple of weeks...and I thought it was just me and the monied brigade who can afford to empty Cath Kidston catalogues and browse french chateaux for their vintage goodies. I am 36 married for the second time after 1st husband did the dirty on me and our 10 year old son with a variety of mentally unbalanced women ( men always seem to have to leave a relationship to go to someone else have you noticed?). We are expecting our 1st baby together in about 11 weeks and I will be starting my maternity leave at the end of this week - oh JOY! I love jumble sales, boot fairs and charity shops and get more pleasure out of a ragged piece of faded embroidery than most women do from a store card at Monsoon (although that would be nice too..). Now I am actually going to have some time on my hands I can indulge myself with Brocante Home and my list of delicious things to do - No.1 pearl tipped pins to secure my rolls of ribbon to be placed in a pretty glass storage jar... By the way, if you ever do visit my home, prepare to be assaulted by the juxtaposition of pretty prettiness and vintage glory with my husbands obsessive collection and construction of WW2 models... Hope this post is not too long, have a lovely day, Helen |

| Hullo Helen! and welcome...
I love the idea of ribbons held by headed pins in a glass jar - and a good way of keeping them safe from inquisitive small unwary hands, and mouths, too!
11 weeks' time? Gosh, we'll be spoilt with Ouissi and you, two Brocante-babies for two Brocante-babes!

| My thoughts exactly Laura....welcome mom-to-be Helen. I am so pleased we have another "lady" to swell our numbers. Sometimes it gets a tad quiet on here.
I hope you will enjoy Brocante and we all will get to know one another better....sharing our joys of homemaking and just being lovely women!
Have a lvely day too Helen. It is beautifully sunny here...really helps to lift the mood.

| | Hi Helen - welcome! Congratulations on your new baby and your wonderful new life. You really will love it here, I'm sure and it sounds like you'll have some scrummy ideas to share - I can never get enough! I am waiting for a vintage-look shadow boxes I have ordered to arrive, in which I shall be pinning (with pearl tipped pins!) my daughter's baby memorabilia and our wedding day memorabilia too, to go in my bedroom. Can't wait to start my little project and see how it turns out. Thanks for reminding me about the pins! |

| Sasha, that sounds a lovely project...must have piccies, please!
What a lovely way to display the special memorabilia which could end up lost in the mists of time...or hidden away in some corner of the loft. Hope it all develops as you've pictured it in your mind's eye, Sasha.

| | So do I Jacquie! That's the thing with me - I have a very clear image in my head of what I want, and tend to be very tenacious about acheiving it! I have a whole blank wall in my bedroom, and wanted something meaningful to fill it, not just a random print. It's at the end of my bed, so I will be staring straight at it! The boxes haven't arrived yet though - so we'll see if they're what I have in mind first of all - it's hard to judge when you order off t'internet isn't it? |
