| Isn't carbolic awfully harsh on the skin? I see they sell Burt's Bees though. I love their cuticle cream. _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| Woah! You wouldn't use carbolic soap on your skin - it's a disinfectant, so you'd use it for scrubbing a bedframe after someone's had a major gastro-intestinal illness, or bathroom floors round the base of toilets (because men never can actually aim...) or cleaning bucket that you've used for being sick into when ill!
Carbolic acid: major disinfectant in the C19th and early C20th.
Replaced now by Dettol and all the other Germicidal nightmare chemical-hazards, sadly - our habit of swiping every surface all the time with incredibly stron gdisinfectants is thought to be part of why our society is increasingly stricken by allergies and asthma and eczema. Hot soapy water and CLEAN cloths will do the job perfectly well - so if you want carbolic, well, here's the website, thanks to Melanie!
