I don't
exactly live near an Ikea Karla - they're all about an hour away, and as my husband would rather chew off his right arm than go (except he can be easily tempted by their meatballs and gravy in the cafe) it is a once in a blue moon occurance to go!
We went last weekend though, and for the first time it was actually a fun trip for us all! Instead of traipsing around moaning, my daughter discovered the delights of playing 'house' in the mock up kitchens!! It was great! We sat down at the dining table in one particularly lovely and cosy open plan kitchen/diner set up and pretended it was our own house, while my little girl rustled pots and pans like she was cooking us dinner and handing us glasses of 'wine'! We complimented her on her choice of decor/crockery and we all played like we were having dinner at her house! Goodness knows what the passing shoppers thought....
As most of the mock up 'rooms' were also decorated for Christmas, it was lovely - trouble was it took even longer to get round the store, stopping to play house in all the rooms we liked the look of - oh well!
Here in England Ikea now do mail order on some of their items - do you have that service where you are? Not that I'm encouraging spending though! And it's not available on all the lovely 'nick nacks' which is usually all I want to pick up. Hey ho.
