| Has anyone ever used their crockpot for baking purposes? I've had a desire to do that for years and just never have. I have an old Rival crockpot cake pan that was my mom's. I think I'll give it a try this week. My only problem is with the lid on, the crockpot lid doesn't fit all the way, so I guess I'll have to do the aluminum foil method.

| Kim,
I have a friend here that just had her 9th baby too. It's funny because 2 just about did me in emotionally, but every baby she has seems to make her happier and happier.
Would you share your rice pudding recipe with us? I'd love to make it!

| Has anyone tried roast chicken in the crock pot? It turns out really yummy-- and the next evening I use the rest to make noodle soup. _________________ --Jenn http://web.mac.com/thriftshopromantic/iWeb/ |

| I sure will. It's one actually that came with my Crockpot, very practical, nothing fancy and totally delicious. So I'll try to remember to type it up and post it here tonight when I get home from work. _________________ --Jenn http://web.mac.com/thriftshopromantic/iWeb/ |

| Okey-doke-
Straight from my CrockPot cookbook:
Chicken in a Pot
2 carrots, sliced 2 onions, sliced 2 stalks celery, cut into 1 inch pieces 1 whole broiler/fryer chicken, 3-4 lbs 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/2 cup water, chicken broth or white win 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Put carrots, onion, and celery in bottom of stoneware. Place while chicken on top of vegetables. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and add liquid overr top. Sprinkle basil over top. Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours (HIGH; 3/12 to 5 hours, using 1 cup water). Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
And ohhh... it's really good. Have a good evening! And happy cooking! _________________ --Jenn http://web.mac.com/thriftshopromantic/iWeb/ |
