| Preheat your oven to 160C (180C for fan assisted), Gas 4. Spread 300 gm of mixed, shelled nuts on a baking sheet ie: pecans, almonds and hazelnuts and toast until golden.
Heat 450 g of granulated sugar with 200 ml of water in a saucepan. Stir until the mixture is dissolved, the boil rapidly without stirring for about 8 minutes. Swirl pan to achieve an even caramel.
Remove from heat and working quickly, stir in toasted nuts and pour mixture onto a lined or greased baking sheet. Leave to cool and harden. Break into pieces to serve with your favourite beverage! Perfect for Halloween, Bonfire Night or just as a sweet treat on a cold Autumn evening! _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| | Ive made this before and it is delicious. I love eating it broke over thick, creamy ice cream, there is a little Italian ice cream parlour near where Johns parents live, and they make the ice cream in their shop, they make it the oldfashioned way, the result been the most heavenly ice cream I have ever tasted and the most divine smell in their little parlour, that is the ice cream I break my nut brittle over, yummy. |
