| Did you all wash your faces in the morning dew (and the faces of your daughters) to ensure beauty for the whole year?
May Day is the traditional time for new starts - so whatever we might have regretted doing or not doing is wiped from the slate, and off we go on a new blank slate.
It's the time for reproduction, and new growth, so especial thoughts for Ouissi and her little one - but also, we could use this as a time to sort out our finances, especially with the current economic climate, so that what savings we have can grow and what debts we have can be eroded until they are wiped clean!
Healthy eating gets easier now too, as salads are cheaper and fresher in thsi season and we can start sowing our seeds - I've sown rocket, radish, carrots, corn-salad (lamb's lettuce, or māche) and pot-marigolds to scatter the orange petals through salads too!
Happy May Day, Brocanters!

| Oh blast! I forgot about the dew thing. I used to do that when I was a little girl, desperately hoping it would make me pretty! Of course, I think my daughter is beautiful enough without it.
Funnily enough, this year has been a really positive time of new beginnings for us, culminating in what's happening with our new house in France etc in the next month or so - fingers crossed! AND I've been on a healthy eating kick lately - how strange. I must be cosmically aligned or something for a change!
Happy May Day to you all too - I hope this is a wonderful time of re-birth and new beginnings for you all too - think positive. xx |

| I'd have been washing my face with ice rather than dew. It was unseasonably cold here last night. Not being a wet blanket but....
We're off to Weymouth for week on Saturday. We have three possible rentals to look at while we're there. I'm hoping to pick up a couple more. Can't wait to get away from this non stop cold, wet weather! _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| Im could definitely do with a new beginning. I have been unable to work in our business since early April due to poor health and this morning I have been filling out the pertinent forms for Invalidity Benefit. I have ended up in tears as it is 11 pages of information and so difficult to comprehend. I've finally phoned the Benefits office and the National Insurance and the GP and have I think done it all correctly now. It amazes me that when someone is ill they are given such a complicated series of hoops to jump through. This PTSD and drug withdrawal from a/d is no picnic...so yes, a new beginning and a fresh start is what I need today.
It is sunny here today and as I've rearranged my desk to face outside and have been busy with all the phone calls and form filling....I feel blessed to have the green trees (and even the traffic noise!) to help me feel connected to that big wide world outside of my four walls.
Happy May :)

| Yes, it does seem cruelly ironic that just when you need it the least, you have to have extra wits about you to fill in such laborious forms - but onwards and upwards Jacquie - you've done the hard bit now. Keep on clinging to every positive thought, as you have been doing to have come as far as you have already. Try not to lose sight of your goal - better health and peace of mind, you WILL get to your summit! You are an amazing woman you know! xx
Well, I may not have doused myself in morning dew (or hedgehog wee, frog slime and whatever lurks on my lawn....lol) but I did have a trip to the hairdresser, so feel a bit more 'polished' thanks to an expert! I bumped into an old work colleague afterwards, who said I looked very well, so the hairdresser must have done a good job! And my lovely husband has suggested we all go to our favourite local restaurant for dinner tonight, so that will be nice - worth having my hair done for! Hopefully while we're there we can arrange his 40th birthday meal, which we want to hold there for about 24 of our close family and friends. So, two birds, one stone!
Getting excited now about my best friends wedding on Saturday! |

| | I have never heard of washing your face in dew at the first of May, good grief if I had known I may have tried to bathe in it. LOL |
