PostSubject: October Mission List for me   Wed Oct 01, 2008 11:49 am

It's October 1st and the last few weeks were awful, several major different work things all culminating in the same damn week (who planned that?!). So busy I only managed to read two pages of my bedside novel in 9 nights...

So here I am, with a busy few months ahead (but only normally busy) at work, as well as giving up smoking this week, as well as starting off with everything in a complete muddle from the last few weeks...!

So I remembered Alison's original planfor these Mission Lists, whcih is to come back and edit one's original post to cross them off one by one...

So I shall post these two and then I will HAVE to do them since I've posted them up publicly!

Mission List - THIS WEEK

1. Launder, iron and put away all the clothes currently stored in my famed 'horizontal wardrobe system' aka the floor
2. Collect the dozens of pairs of tights and stockings that are continually falling off my lovely wooden chest of drawers, getting in the way and meaning I can't use it as a table and can't find my hair-clips either; put all the hosiery into a pillowcase and wash them for once by machine as it's quicker; hang them over the bannister on the landing to dry; match by length and colour; THROW OUT deceased ones and store intact ones properly.
3. Clear up the kitchen properly and clean the fridge, inside, outside, front and back to save on electrical bills.

Mission List - THIS MONTH
- to keep the list on the freezer door up to date so I know what's in there and what's not and can save money by using it properly

So... now I've got to do these things!

Having just come the good side of another session of depression I am playing "catch up" on Brocante. I like what I've been reading this morning on here....lots of fresh/good conversations.

Laura...I like the idea of keeping a list on the freezer. I am guilty of not rotating the freezer items and then when I do have a clearout I end up binning things. Not a good move in these days of expensive food! I'll be starting a list too!

I am well behind on homemaking tasks and so not only am I playing catch up on the forum but in real life too. Now to that pile of ironing! Yuk! Music playing will help on that front.

You can think of me if you iron tomorrow as that's what I'll be doing too - everything washed today, and ironing to do tomorrow... so I'll time it for Gardeners' Question Time on Radio 4 as it's perfect ironing background...

The list seems to be working not badly - I generally remember to cross things off but it's easier to forget to add them on. Actually what would REALLY work would be one of those magnetic pens for writing on whiteboards and just write on the freezer-door! Maybe not...

I still haven't done the huge tangled pile of hosiery... but i have got the kitchen cleared up!

Never enough hours in the day, are there?

Wow! I need to get to work! I've never been a particularly good housekeeper. I've always loved the concept and reading about it. I've always wanted to be a great housekeeper. I just HATED my house. I had an irrational animosity towards it and I wanted it to die.
But now, we've moved. And I ADORE my house. I want to grab a cozy blanket and cuddle up with it. So now that I've officially got the urge to keep house, I need to get to making that seasonal list. We still haven't cleaned out our fireplace. And I'm SO excited about using it. And there are so many other things! Oh this is going to be a great first year!
