| ... said my late Gran on more than one occasion as she gazed despondently at my latest weird outfit.
She'd have been jolly pleased today - up first thing to do garden-clearing, so on went jeans tucked into heavy socks, t-shirt and fleece; sturdy boots and hair scragged back harshly into a not-in-the-way bun.
Now I've done today's stint in the garden so I've just changed - fluttery skirt in pale green-tea linen with roses on it, apricot fitted blouse with tiny dark-pink flowers on it; my hair up at the front loosely with silk roses in the back where it's fastened, and the rest loose; and neat little medium-heeled deep-cherry-red leather shoes with a strap across.
Now I feel all read for a day of ironing and laundering, some mending, and then putting everything away!
I know others here have a tendency to dress up for housekeeping and I wondered if your outfits change with the seasons? I posted that I wore a black skirt and top, but of course that was in winter! In summer, I go all floral and fluttery!
If I was slobbing round in tracksuit bottoms, a stained saggy t-shirt and slippers, I would most certainly NOT feel this good about myself and would NOT get the amount of work done that I have already and will do today!

| To be honest Laura I've never given much thought to my dress when I do homemaking....the only thing I do know, as you've also observed, when you are dressed in slobby outfits it doesn't inspire you to do things nicely....so agreement there from me.
Your summer outfit you described, and especially the roses in your swept up hair sounds lovely and feminine. Hope you accomplish all you want to do today.

| | I guess I'm more inspired to clean when I don't have something nice on. Because I don't want to get all sweaty and dirty. My favorite cleaning attire is my nightgown. When I finish I step right in the shower and then I'm ready for whatever the day holds. |

| | I wear jeans and t.shirt for cleaning, and love to slob around in my pj's, as soon as the day is done, and I know I have nothing more to do, no where else to go, and no one is coming here, I have a nice bath and get in my pj's, then I feel I can relax, I curl up on the settee and read or watch a good dvd, I just cant realx in clothes, I have to have my pj's on. |

| Very practical, both of you! ;-)
I know just what you mean about pyjamas or nightgowns - that feeling at the end of a long day when everythign is finally DONE... you could just curl up in your jeans, but the difference if you have a bath and then curl up wearing fluffy socks and gorgeous nightclothes... oooh, guess what I'll be doing tonight!

| | Yip, I just love it, and no need for make up or making sure your hair looks nice, it's just tied up hair and a fresh make up free face, no worries at all, I find myself longing for the end of the day so I can curl up in my pj's and just relax, nothing like it. |
