| Can you help me?
I recieved a cute little red tea pot for Christmas one year and it still lacks a tea cosy. Do any of you know of a pattern(possibly online?) for a tea cosy? |

| Do you mean a knitting pattern? Because all the quilted fabric ones I've seen didn't really have patterns. Cut two half-circles of fabric big enough to cover the teapot with the flat line at the bottom. Add quilting layers (what we in the UK call batitng or wadding, iirc) and a lining. Stitch each half, then stitch together leaving gaps in the seam for the spout (small gap) and the handle (larger gap).
I don't quite know how to translate meaasurements of teapot into measurement sof the half-circles... trial and error and start a bit big and then keep re-pinning the halves til you get it nice and snug?
You could do seasonal tea-cosies... a rich speckled brown for Christmas Pud with appliqued cream on the top part and a sprig of berried holly.... a pastel eggshell with zig-zag broken-shell edges along the bottom for Easter... glorious gorgeous roses fabric for summer with cream satin wide-ribbon bows... patchwork made of leaf-shaped reds and golds and bronzes for autumn... and a pumpkin Jack O'Lantern for Hallowe'en!
I don't even drink tea. Why am I coming up with seasonally-themed tea-cosy designs?!

| Thanks so much! No, not a knitting pattern. I am a horrible knitter! I loved the little seasonal ideas. Especially the pudding one for Christmas:) I think I am going to work on making a tea cosy this weekend. Thanks again! -Josie |
