| I started off yesterday morning by tackling the kitchen detritus from cooking the night before for the boyfriend and myself. Within seconds I was using a shapr knife to go round the knobs of the gas cooker to get the grease out from behind the dials.
Yep. Really crucial stuff. With the sink full of soaking pans, the counters spotted and smeared, plates of food shoved in the fridge awaiting freezing or sorting...
This morning I set the alarm early to get myself up and going, let's get this done, go-go-go-go-go... and, er, um, here I am idly toddling through websites in my nightclothes an hour later...
I'm going to re-write my version of Alison's Planner, I think. It involves downloading the Brocante Planner and then taking out all the bits that don't apply and putting in bits that do apply, and then spending ages happily playing with different fonts and colours of lettering and maybe pasting in a bit or two of clip-art to make it even prettier... what's that? Oh! Oh, you say I actually have to do it as well as type it out? Damn...
Tell me I'm not alone...
And while you're at it, tell me to GET GOING!!!!!
I feel like gardening instead of housework but my laundry's been sitting damply unironed since Monday and now needs re-washing or it'll smell mildewy... unless I rewash the laundry and iron it tomorrow and do the gardening today?
Oh and I should do some work too... at least four hours' worth, really...
I could put my hair up with pretty fabric roses in it. What do you think? For a housekeeping outfit - blue jeans, floral blouse over polka-dotted camisole and roses in my hair? Only really I should wash my hair first, so I could wait a bit til the water's hot and have a bath...
AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

| Shall we just dub you "Queen of Procrastination?" Your post was really amusing...you've really nailed the art of delay, Laura.
Enjoyed reading it....you'll get it down....whenever......(lol)
Have a great day...no guilt...just a great day!

| Don't get going, come dally with me reading this luscious blog I discovered while hunting for info on something that now escapes my Teflon memory;
Storybook Woods
I'm constantly amazed at the sheer hard work, creativity and inspiration these women have! You can spend hours looking through their links to other similar sites. And many of these ladies have their own small businesses, making all sorts of lovely, homey items.
So much for the Homemaking as Drudgery/Boring/50s Throughback mindset that seems so prevalent. _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| Well, here I am in my floral blouse, roses in hair and blue-jeans tucked into boots!
I've done one-third of the garden-clearing.
I've done one-eighth of the work stuff.
I've done 3/4 of the kitchen.
I've put the laundry back round again in the machine on a quick-wash cycle.
I've got a sandwich made of homemade bread with tons of seeds in it, the flour being three parts wheat and one part oats, homemade mayonnaise, bought liver pate, and the leftover salad, so it has cheerful bright orange marigold petals and purple chive flowers falling out of the sides ;-)
I've got the whole afternoon and all evening - surely in that time I can do two-thirds of the gardening, 1/4 of the kitchen and at least another 3/8 of the work stuff (doesn't have to be finished today, phew!).
As long as I don't doze off after lunch for two hours, that is...
How DO people manage not to procrastinate?! I've tried all the methods available and the only one that works is Sir Ranulph Fiennes', the explorer, whose method is simply to stand up - now - this minute - still reading... because once you're standing, it's easier to take a step, and another step, and then you're doing whatever it is easily... only you have to make yourself do the standing-up bit... ummm...
