I am so tired, I have woke up with my head feeling really heavy, I would sleep all day given the chance. It is quite warm today, though very cloudy.

We did not go to the hospital yesterday, as no sooner did our friend show up that they sent him home again (he has not been discharged, he is on home leave), the doctor told him they are not going to operate as there is a high mortality rate with those operations, so I dont know how their going to make him better, now their saying their not sure if it is an abscess or a cist on his pancreas, and the only way they would know is if they drained it which means operating, which their not going to do, so how are they going to make him better. Part of his pancreas is now dead, and we all fear more of it will die, I pray he gets better, we are going to their home today to visit him and his wife. His wife is in agony with her right hand where she had the operation on Friday, poor woman, I really hope they both start getting better really soon.

So, once I've done the housework and washing, John and I will walk to our friends house and have a cuppa and chat with them, see if we can cheer them up, bless them.

So, have a good day ladies, take care all.

Its the usual grey, dull day here. I hear a cruel rumour that Summer is going to make a brief one or two day appearance this week before resuming the usual programming. What hopes?

We've got two schools in our immediate area and its amazing how quiet it is now that their closed. You'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to notice how much heavier traffic is thru our wee village, compared to what it was five years ago. Frankly my dear, if I'd wanted to live next to a highway, I'd have done so. We can't wait to get out!

I'm still mulling over what to make for supper. In the meantime, a walk is in order. Have a better one all!

Well, I'm in the mood to run away and leave no forwarding address! Guess that says it all really. Just totally fed up and feeling really quite joyless. When my bouts of depression leave me for good it will be one welcome relief.

I've been busy with helping our daughter and family move and am also now left dangling as the Incapacity Benefit I had been told was going to be paid to me when I am unable to work is being reassessed. So...have received zilch since 7th April when it was to begin. Feeling a tad cranky about that too! It seems when you are self-employed as hubby and I are they really make you jump through hoops to be entitled to anything but are quick off the mark to tell us we have to pay National Insurance contributions all the same. grrrr! They've now requested (and I've sent) profit and loss financial statements for our business. I wonder what delay tactic they'll come up with next?

Sorry to be grouchy....just the way things seem to be with me atm. Making myself scarce and not at all happy!

Melanie, your poor friend sounds so ill and his treatment seems to be quite unpredictable. It must be so frustrating for he and his wife. It is a nasty condition and must make his life very difficult. It is so good that he has friends such as yourself and John to show him friendship and compassion. I hope the doctors can find a method of treatment for him soon.

Sorry to hear your getting the bureaucratic runaround Jacquie. Its the same back home isn't it. If your self employed, they insist you can't be unemployed. If Labour actually goes ahead with the announcement to overhaul the benefit system, it may get even tougher.

No forwarding address sounds wonderful! Where shall we run away to?
