| When my mam phoned me last night she told me Red was in the vets in a critical condition. My mam had her out yesterday when she collapsed in the park, her tongue went blue and she was vomiting, my mam rushed for help and the park warden drove my mam and Red to the vets, where Red was put immediately on a drip and given other drugs, the vet told my mam she has sun stroke and may not last the night, and if she does pull through she could have brain damage or heart problems. My mam was distraught, so she had to leave Red in the vets over night, but she did phone them last night to see how Red was, and it is remarkable, she was recovering really quickly, she had even had something to eat, so the vets think she will be just fine now, so my mam was so happy, she has to phone them this morning to see if she can bring Red home, I pray Red makes a full recovery, my mam will be heart broken if anything happens to her, we all will, poor Red.
It took me ages to fall asleep last night, I've had afew hours sleep at most I think. Hospital appointment this morning, then I think we are visiting our friend in hospital this afternoon. It is a dull morning, very dark and cloudy. I cant wait until all this day's task's are done so that I can have a nice bath, get in my clean jimjams, read for a while, watch afew episodes of Bleak House while drinking tea and eating biscuits, then get settled with my hubby for a lovely night together, perfect.
Have a good day everyone, take care all. |

| Morning all. Sun has disappeared but its warm and muggy.
In the interests of energy (and money) savings, I'm experimenting to see how well my detergent works on the no heat or cold water setting on the washer. I think some things will need hot water, but others will be fine. I'm not aware of a detergent here thats made specifically to perform well in cold water, so if anyone knows of one, please let me know.
I had a lovely birthday yesterday. And typical of my quirky hubby, Kev brought home fish 'n chips and a bottle of Moet for supper. I adore champagne and this was a real treat. We're going to Paris for a few days, late in the Autumn so thats my birthday present.
Have a better one girls! _________________ Bloomin' Lovely Blog Pumpkins on the Vine |

| Housebug, you can always really improve the washing efficiency on a cold water setting by soaking anything heavily soiled overngiht in a bucket of water with washing-soda or borax in it - that 'loosens' the dirt so it's washed away mroe easily. Washing soda is well under a pound a pack in my local supermarket, and should last ages, so you should still make savings!
Another one would be tumble-drying - if you half-dry things on the line or over chairs and only pop them in to fluff up towels, etc. My aunt let her neighbour use her washing machien and tumbel dryer while she worked abroad, thinking it would be good to have someone going in and out once a week or so - it was only when she got her THREE HUNDRED POUND electricity bill that she found out he was tumble-drying everything til it was bone dry - eeek!

| | The only thing I use hot water for are my towels from the kitchen and bathroom and any cleaning rags. Everything else gets washed in cold water. |
