| We had a good night last night. The artists meeting was very interesting. A tour guide was there, and he gave us a tour of the church and told us its history, and a tour of the surrounding area, the grave yard, where Burke and Hare stole bodies from when they fled from Edinburgh, the orphanage where boys whose fathers where killed at sea went, the schools, the old town moor and the original Trafalgar Square, which was completed 3 years before the one in London (and where my great grandmother lived) so Sunderland can boast the original Trafalgar square. I already knew a lot of the history as my dad was brought up in the East End and he has told me stories, plus I have read up on it myself, but it was fascinating to walk around the East End and get a real feel of old Sunderland. We then went to the oldest pub in Sunderland and stayed for one drink, then we came home and had a relaxing night, it was a welcomed break from the camera club. Our friend has been allowed home for a few days, but he has to go back in hospital either tomorrow or Monday, and he will be getting his operation soon after that hopefully. I had a night of disturbed sleep and am exhausted. I feel so weak, my body is crying out for rest, so I hope I can take it easy today. I will do the little housework that needs to be done and the washing, then have a nice bath, hopefully finish the book I am reading and relax for the day.
I hope you all have a good day, take care all. |

| Good Morning All, Mel that sounds really interesting, I wish people around here would realize the significant value of older buildings and areas. Florida seems to be a tear it down area...at least the area I'm in. Pathetically sad. In Ohio they area tearing down the elementary school I went to because they said there is too much to do, too expensive. What I don't understand is why do they wait so long to fix it, they could do little projects along the way....anyway..glad your evening was lovely. I'm starting off with a small headache this morning, thanks to the stinking weather...praying it doesn't get bigger. I'm going to breakfast with 3 other friends, and I really haven't made any other plans. I've thought of baking a cake for one of my friends birthday but that'll have to wait. Then I still need to vacuum the car......hmmmm I'm anxious to go out of town next week but I haven't driven that far in serious ages...total 900 miles..ugh..and long grueling work day...pray we don't get stuck outside...please! I pray they put us inside...please....anyway...enough....hope all have a wonderful day...... |

| | It is such a shame when old buildings get pulled down, especially if they have alot of history attached to them, such a shame. |
